LEAGUE SCHEDULE:
The league will meet every other Saturday evening from 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. At 7:30, weekly dues will be collected. Players must pay dues in order to play. Since the schedule of games is based on the total number of players, all players are asked to please arrive no later than 7:30 pm. Any players that cannot make a league night must notify the league at least three days prior (see page 3 for League contact info). League play will begin as soon as the field is available.
* Weekly dues can be paid in cash, check, or money order (Any checks/money orders for league payments can be made payable to “Kan Jam League.”)
RANDOM DRAW:
Most returning players enter a “random draw” – each player draws a chip prior to league play and get paired with a random partner each week. This helps to keep matchups interesting and exciting. Those not comfortable with joining the random draw are not required to do so and can team up with their own partner. For those in the random draw, there will be a maximum of 3 times that two players can be paired together. After two players are paired up 3 times, chips will be drawn separately to ensure they are not paired up again.

LEAGUE PLAY:
Each team will play a total of 16 games per league night. Games will be played to 21 points. All general KanJam rules apply, unless voted by otherwise by the league (3/4 vote required). Each team’s schedule of games is predetermined based on the total number of teams competing that night. After all teams have successfully completed their schedule of games, wins will be tallied to determine that week’s winner. The wins will also count toward the final standings. Also, any non-KanJam equipment cannot be touched (such as hockey nets, etc.) and we please ask to keep the facilities clean. Players will be responsible for replacing any flying discs that are broken intentionally as the result of any non KanJam play or fooling around.
NIGHTLY SCHEDULE:
7:30 - 7:45: Weekly dues collected (per player) / KanJam
sets assembled / music set up
7:45 - 8:00: Draw teams for random format / warm-up
(only if field is available)
8:00 - 8:05: Set-up courts, pair-up & warm-up
8:05 - 9:50: League play
9:50 - 10:00: Clean-up, tie-breakers (if time permits)

COST:
Players must be registered in pairs and will be responsible for who they register with. If a partner cannot make it, a substitute player can be used. If a sub plays in someone’s spot, they will be responsible for that week’s dues instead. There will be a handful of substitute players that can fill in, but the league must be notified in advance if a player will miss a week. The cost to play is $10 per player each week + a one-time $10 registration fee – all funds will go to pay for the Epic Center rental fees. Here is the recommended pay plan per player:
Week 1 (11/7/09): $40 (includes registration fee)
Week 4 (12/19/09): $40
Week 8 (2/13/10): $40
The league is lenient on money, and will allow players to participate as long as they pay the $10 fee each week. The plan above is recommended, to avoid players from paying every week. At any time, players may pay for weeks in advance, but the $10 fee for the week will always be due. The total cost of the league per player for all 11 weeks is $120 over the course of 5 months (this includes the $10 registration fee due on week 1). Once a player has paid in full, they don’t have to pay per week anymore, so it is recommended to pay ahead. All money collected for league is non-refundable. Those players joining mid-season will not be responsible for the entire season, only from that point going forward.
KEEPING SCORE:
Each team will be presented with a clipboard before the beginning of each week’s matches. This clipboard will contain a score sheet which must be kept accurately. Not only will teams be in charge of keeping their win/loss record, but as a side item, players will be asked to track other categories as well: perfect games, instant wins (in the slot or the top of the can), and number of overtime rounds. The score sheets will have these extra categories on them, so please make use of them. Players will turn in their sheets at the end of the night to determine that week’s winners.
STANDINGS:
At the conclusion of each night’s play, all score sheets will be collected. Teams will be ranked in order by the number of wins they accumulated during league matches. Final standings will be awarded on a point system. All teams will receive points for their placement for the week, depending on the number of teams that play that week. For example, let’s say there are 8 teams playing on a given night. First place will receive 8 points, second place will get 7 points, and so on. In addition, each team will also receive 1 point for every win. For example, a team came in 3rd place on a night of 8 teams playing and managed 12 wins. That team would receive a total of 18 points for the night (6 points for placement and 12 points for wins). In the event of a tie, head-to-head record for the week is the first tie-breaker. If head-to-head cannot be determined (for example, a head-to-head with more than two teams tied with the same record), a tie-breaker “shootout” format is set up as follows: (only if time permits, otherwise both teams will be awarded the points.)
• Each team assumes their own court on the field of play
• All teams in the tie-breaker are given three rounds to accumulate as many points as possible
• If an instant win is thrown in a shootout, then it counts as 10 points
• The team with the most points after three rounds wins
Note: In the event of a tie which remains unbroken after three rounds of play, one additional round of throwing will take place. This one round will repeat if necessary and only long enough to break the tie.
All players will receive one "drop week"---this means if a player misses a week, that won't hurt them in the final standings. Keep in mind, players that are present every week will have the opportunity to drop their worst week at the end of the season. This only applies to points---all other stats will remain.
